Inspiration 268: Classy Teal and White

Today I have another post for you with a late fall color palette.  I went more simple with this one, using teal mixed with whites and creams.  Teal is one of my favorite colors and looks beautiful on everyone!

Inspiration 256: Sophisticated Beach

Aqua and green are the perfect palette for a beach wedding!  I also added some teal to this board to bring a bit of sophistication. The white floral centerpieces in the colorful vase add a fun touch to this inspiration!

Real Wedding: Elizabeth & Chris's Backyard Wedding

Elizabeth & Chris had a lovely backyard wedding in Massachusetts last September.  I love how they incorporated just a few colors into their wedding party and then brightened up the reception but adding a few hints of other colors in.  And the table numbers were Ben & Jerry ice cream flavors, how cute!

Inspiration 240: Rustic Peacock and Orange

This board is for a bride who wanted to combine a city and country feel into her wedding using peacock blue and orange as the color palette and incorporating feathers and pearls.  I think the bouquet in this board is spot on with the orchids and peacock feathers!  The clutch would be a great city chic touch for the bridesmaids to carry.

Inspiration 233: A Twist on Aqua and Purple

This board was inspired by the bridesmaids' looks in it.  I love the shades of aqua with the soft pinkish purple!

On a side note, I am leaving for Vegas tonight!  I have a few real weddings scheduled to post till I come back but after Thursday there will be no boards till Monday or Tuesday.

Monday Funday 22: Victorian Steampunk Inspiration

This is definitely a fun inspiration board, great to brighten up a Monday morning!  The bride who requested this board wanted to work with a brown, purple and teal color palette that incorporated peacock feathers and rusty elements with a steampunk and victorian feel.  Whew... with all these ideas it could get a little over the top but the bride is a professional costumer as well as a cake designer and artist so I'm sure she will pull it off beautifully!  She requested no white (including her dress) so here is the board I came up with!

Bouquet Love!

I love how this bouquet combines real flowers and vintage pins to create a really unique look.  Its a great way to incorporate a wedding color that doesn't usually occur in flowers!

Inspiration 221: Kumquat and Vintage Teal

Teal is my favorite color, I just can't get enough of it!  I went with a deep vintage teal for this board and paired it with fun, bright kumquat orange.  The bouquets in this board are all so gorgeous and I love the button detail on the cake!

Monday Funday 18: Vintage Gypsy Style

Fun board requests always excite me!!  The bride who requested this board wants to create a 1930s gypsy/carnival feel with an jewel-tone eggplant and dark teal color palette.  She also hoped to incorporate stars and tarot cards (used here as the escort cards).  There are a ton of great elements in this board, but I love the veil the most!  It definitely portrays that vintage gypsy feel.  The hanging umbrellas are just amazing too, and the use of vintage suitcases is the perfect touch.

Inspiration 193: Peacock Blue & Plum Fall Wedding

The bride who requested this board wanted to work with a peacock blue, plum and silver color palette for her fall wedding.  Since her fiance is from Hong Kong she wanted to incorporate his culture by adding deep red which is important in the Chinese culture.  I think red works beautifully with the peacock blue and plum colors she originally wanted to use!  For this board I also incorporated an Asian inspird cake to honor her fiance's culture.

Alternative Wednesday #15: Poster Guest Books

While I still love the idea of a thumbprint tree, I always like having more options to think about.  So when I spotted these poster guest books I thought they were a great, fun alternative.  It's a great way to show your personalities and your color palette or theme.  Plus, you'll have some amazing, personal artwork for your home!

these first two images are from We Met in a Bar's wedding:
Next is a fun and personalized poster from Jonathan and Cameron's wedding on Love & Lavender:

Monday Funday 12: Purple Peacock

Ahhh, this board is so bright and fun!  I love the use of peacock feathers in different elements of a wedding and I think purple is a great complimentary color for them.  I love the mismatched shades of the bridesmaids dresses in this board, they work with all the colors you see in a peacock feather.  The chair decorations are really great too!

Inspiration 170: Slightly Vintage Teal and Mustard

Today I have for you a fun teal, mustard and chocolate brown color palette.  I love the simple painted cake in this board, and the fun paper pinwheel decorations!  This color combo would work well for summer, fall or winter.

Inspiration #147- Lovely Teal and Bronze

Wow, I LOVE this board.  I think if you read through my blog you will notice my obsession with everything teal and turquoise, so that's probably why.  Bronze is a nice warm compliment to the cool teal, this would be an excellent color palette for a fall or winter wedding!

PS:  I love the bride's style in the bottom left corner!

Inspiration #138 & #139- Which Will They Choose?

I am getting back into making requested boards again! The bride who requested these boards is deciding between two very different themes. The first is a vintage sand and star theme. For this board I went with a aqua, teal, midnight blue, sand and gold color palette. I really, really like the way this board turned out! The second theme is Rasta. Which is totally cool and definitely fun! I went with the Rasta color scheme of red, yellow and green. I think it would be awesome to have a Rasta band at the reception too.

Inspiration #136- Transitioning to Spring

This was my other guest blogger post! I think this color combo would be great for a wedding in ealy spring, the combination of the darker teal and robin's egg is not too bright for late winter but also not too dark for spring. This also includes a J. Crew wedding dress and I think all white or ivory flowers would go the best with this color palette!

Inspiration #134- Rocky Mountain Inspired

I'm back again! I really hope to not go MIA this time, I have a lot of free time lately and would love to get back into blogging. Also, Kym from Becoming the Mrs. and DIY Weddings Magazine asked me to be a guest blogger for both sites every Thursday, which is really exciting! Both of her sites are really awesome so you should check them out if you get a chance. I will be posting the two boards I make for her here, every Friday, just to keep track of what I've made and in case you forget to check out her sites!

In other news, I received some requests that I never got to and I would like to apologize if you asked for a board and never had one made. If you are still interested in having one made then please request again and I promise to make you my top priority!

Anyway, on to the board! I received a request from Jessica who wants her wedding to be Rocky Mountain themed. Her color scheme is stone gray, emerald, teal, and magenta. I think it would be nice to keep the ceremony colors mostly the stone gray, emerald and teal with just a surprise pop of magenta as Jessica's bouquet. Then for a fun reception incorporate a lot of the magenta with emerald and teal accents. I like the idea of the bridesmaids carrying white bouquets (tied with stone gray ribbon) and possibly having mismatched emerald and teal dresses. Also, to incorporate the Rocky Mountain theme have stone gray river rocks as the seating cards! Here is the board, hope you like it Jessica, and everyone else too!

Inspiration #131- Oregon Coast Wedding

The bride who requested this board is having a beach wedding but doesn't want a beach theme. Her colors are going to be chocolate, cream, dandelion, aqua and sage green. She wants the feel of the wedding to be a relaxed, country-ish, southern Sunday dinner.

Favorite Photo Friday #12- Walking in a Winter Wonderland...

Last week us Northeastern folk were hit by a boatload of snow! And while I'm pretty tired of looking at it I couldn't help falling in love with these images shot by the lovely Jessica Claire. There is just so much to love in these picture sets, the grooms sweater vest, how the bright colors really POP against the soft white snow or the brides stunning dress and head piece... along with every other element of this shoot!

Inspiration #115- Teal and Orange with an Autumn Twist

So I decided that I really liked the shoes featured on this board and wanted to make an inspiration board based off of them (feathers on shoes, so awesome!). I think this board would be perfect for a late summer/early fall wedding with the addition of mocha to the color scheme. Replacing aqua with teal makes it less summery too, at least in my opinion.
