Inspiration Shoot: The Oxford Hotel

This inspiration shoot was done by Byron Roe Photography to show off the possibilities of the eco-friendly Oxford Hotel in Oregon as a wedding venue.  I love the big open windows of the ceremony location, so pretty!

Alternative Wednesday #18: Yup, That's an Artichoke!

Artichokes have caught my eye!  Besides being totally yummy, they are also extremely visually striking when used in different elements of a wedding.  They are also eco-friendly because you will be using less flowers.  Both green and purple artichokes add a fun twist to a bouquet, centerpiece, escort card or even cake!  I think they would add a special touch to a Tuscan or Mediterranean themed wedding also.  Check back tomorrow for a really awesome artichoke filled wedding with an amazing artichoke inspired cake!

Inspiration 187: Red Gingham and Wildflowers

Wildflower bouquets and centerpieces are so much fun!  I love the rustic, natural feel they add to a wedding, plus they are budget savers (free flowers?!?! SCORE!).   So head out in the backyard and pick yourself a pretty bouquet on your wedding day.  And give your guests a packet of wildflower seeds as an eco-friendly favor, maybe someday their daughter will be picking them for her bouquet!  I added red gingham to this board to give it a sweet country backyard picnic style to it.

Inspiration 184: Under the Old Oak Tree

This is kind of a no theme, themed board... if that makes sense!  I love the idea of getting married under a big, old tree.  I went with a natural and neutral brown, tan and forest green and grass green color palette for this board.  Of course I incorporated a lot of wood elements too, to play off the old tree theme.  The invitations on this board are super cute... I love the detail of the heart with your initials on the tree!

Alternative Wednesdays #12- Farmer's Market Wedding Favors

I have a fun and eco-friendly favor idea for you today!  Edible favors are definitely a hot trend but why not go with some local produce?  It's affordable, easy to DIY, good for the environment and supports your local economy... plus it gives out of town guests a taste of your hometown.  And if local produce isn't available (which is possible for cold weather states in the winter months) you could always go with locally made jam or honey.  I think the last example I posted is really cute, a small jar of honey and some homemade or locally made granola!  Also loving the third option where they offered strawberries, locally baked bread and fresh cut flowers with a handmade tote to carry them all in!

Inspiration #146- Eco-Friendly Raspberry Wedding

Eco-friendly weddings are becoming increasingly popular, which is awesome! The bride who requested this board wants to have an organic, eco-friendly wedding with an raspberry and cucumber color palette. Since one of her colors is "cucumber" I thought it would be a fun, eco-friendly favor to give cucumber and dill seeds so their guests could grow and make their own pickles which I saw on Green Wedding Shoes. I think using a chalkboard for the wedding program (as well as menu and seating chart) is also a great eco-friendly touch. She also plans on including lawn games, lemonade and a parade to reception in her wedding, which are all fun touches!

Inspiration #28- The grass is always greener...

I love the look of wheatgrass for centerpieces or trays of wheatgrass to hold place cards. That's where I drew my inspiration for this board. Eco-friendly weddings are gaining in popularity and one of my favorite ideas for a wedding favor is a plantable one (seeds, a sapling or a potted succulent or flower.) What do you think?
