Theme Thursday #17- Pale Pink and Black Anemone and Cameo Wedding (and MIA for my sisters wedding!)

Wow, I love anemones! They are such pretty and visually interesting flowers with their large black centers. I think they would pair up lovely with cameos to give your wedding a unique and vintage feel. Here's the inspiration board I've come up with:

PS- I'll be MIA till Monday, leaving tonight for my sister's wedding in VA on Sunday!!

Inspiration #115- Teal and Orange with an Autumn Twist

So I decided that I really liked the shoes featured on this board and wanted to make an inspiration board based off of them (feathers on shoes, so awesome!). I think this board would be perfect for a late summer/early fall wedding with the addition of mocha to the color scheme. Replacing aqua with teal makes it less summery too, at least in my opinion.

Inspriation #114- Black Lace and Ivory

This is the last request from the contest comments. Someone asked for a black, ivory and lace inspiration board, so here it is! I decided to make it black lace and ivory, I thought that was a little different and a fun alternative.

Inspiration #113- Figs and Cherries

This is a lovely color combo, and I think it would be a great alternative to the traditional fall colors. The contrast of the deep purple and the bright red definitely pops, and would work in any season. This is my second to last request from the contest requests and was a great suggestion!

Favorite Wedding Friday #11- Pretty Pretty Picnic

Check it out! Love the mismatched bridesmaids (of course, and I actually suggested one of these dresses in my first Alternative Wednesdays post- look, look!), and the school bus limo, and of course that it was a picnic wedding. It was really hard for me to just pick a few photos, let alone one. That's why from now on this feature will be called Favorite Wedding Friday instead of just Favorite Photo Friday. Photography by Brookelyn Photography (follow the link to check out the rest of this wedding).

Inspiration #112- NOT Aqua and Red

I know aqua and red are a popular color combo, I even like the palette myself. This inspiration board is for something a little different though, pale blue and red. I think this color combo works just as well! The bride wants her wedding to have a light, breezy summer day at the shore feel to it.

Inspiration #111- Early Fall Wedding

This board was requested by a bride who I made a winter board for previously! She is now engaged (congratulations!) and they set their date for 10-02-10. So, she requested a new board that would work for her fall wedding. The color scheme she wants to work with is crimson and orange with touches of chocolate and green. Both her fiancee and her love wedding cakes so I included two!

Theme Thursday #16- 1960s Mad Men Inspired

As I said in the title, this vintage board was inspired by the show Mad Men. The vintage 60s wedding dress and bridesmaids dress were found on Etsy. It's easy to find vintage cake toppers too! Take your style cues from Mad Men, those are some stylish 60s-ers :]

Inspiration #110- Making Your Color Scheme Work with Your Venue

It was brought to me as a challenge, and I was definitely up for it. The bride who requested this board wants to use a pool and tangerine color scheme, but is worried about it working in the Orthodox church she is getting married in. I've never been in an Orthodox church but the bride informed me that they are very colorful and busy with lots of gold. So, to make this work I decided to keep the colors present in the ceremony to only pool and white and save the tangerine for the reception (except for the brides shoes, a fun surprise). By keeping the bright colors in the wedding party to just one, with white as the neutral, it won't look too busy and wild in the church. She also mentioned that they are a very active couple and having an outdoor reception at a campground where they plan to set up a game area, love it! Since their reception is outdoors, they want to incorporate rustic elements.

Alternative Wednesdays #10- Cake Alternatives!

This comment request was a little different from the normal board request, but definitely was fun to work on! The bride who requested this board was looking for dessert alternatives instead of a traditional wedding cake. I've included some that are becoming more popular (pies and cookies) and some more unique ones (ice cream sandwiches, parfaits etc.)... check it out!

Inspiration #109- Preppy Chic Navy and Peach Wedding

The bride who requested this board found my blog through another blogger who I made a board for, how exciting! She wants to work with a peach and navy color palette with the men possibly in seersucker (love it!) or navy blazers with khakis. The plan for the wedding so far is to be outside, as well as an outside reception and the bride wants it to be preppy, chic, classy and simple. Also, she wants to incorporate hydrangeas, southern details (like mason jars) and have a peach Bellini as a signature drink since the couple was engaged in Venice.

Inspiration #108- Bright Yellow and Green Daisy Wedding

Another comment request :] This couple will be having an indoor ceremony and an outdoor reception. Their color scheme is bright yellow and green with lots of white. The bride wants to use daisies, mums, babys breath and hydrangea for the flowers and do cookies for favors.

A Whole Lot of Lovely!

The bride's bolero? Fabulous. Hand painted map? Lovely. Bouquet? Totally unique. Hair flower? I want it. Check out this most gorgeous wedding photographed by Travis Hoehne.

Inspiration #107- Tuscany

One of the commenters on my contest had a request for a Tuscan inspired wedding and here it is! I love the idea of it being very family oriented (sitting at one or a few long tables and having the food served family style, meaning in big bowls and you serve yourself). The cake in this board is rad too, covered in sunflowers and black olives! Miniature cannoli would be fun for dessert and baskets of tomatoes or cute bottles of olive oil are great favor ideas. The color scheme for this board is sunflower yellow and shades of red with a few pops of green.

Favorite Photo Friday #10- I Want to Ride My (Tandem) Bicycle...

Balloons and a tandem bicycle? Sweet! Check out this lovely photo (and a few more from this balloon filled wedding) photographed by Red Photo Co.

Inspiration #106- Inspiration for the Florist

The bride who requested this board wanted it to help show her florist what she was envisioning. Her wedding is in September so she wants the flowers to be earthy fall colors. She also mentioned that she likes orchids and lilies. The bridesmaids will be carrying small bouquets of just a few stems and her bouquet will be nosegay size (small enough to hold in one hand). The bride wants her wedding to have a classic and timeless feel. She also wants to incorporate eggplant purple into her color scheme which already includes the bridesmaids in either navy or hunter green and the men in morning dress.

Theme Thursday #15- Non-traditional Camping Wedding

OK, this bride's wedding ideas make me seriously happy. She wants to go the completely non-traditional route and just have a lot of fun. Think camping, picnicking, games, karaoke and just good times in general. I love the shot of the appetizers or other small bites being served out of the back of an old-fashioned pick up truck! Oh, and the groom in shorts? Love it!

Inspiration #105- Pomegranate and Peach Rustic Wedding

Fall is on it's way, and it brings with it some lovely late summer/ early fall color palettes. I am really liking this burgundy and peach combo! This board was created for a bride who is planning a barn wedding that incorporates fruit and wood into a lot of the elements. I'm definitely in love with fruit centerpieces (maybe pomegranates and peaches? or cranberries?) and the carved wood table numbers.

Inspiration #104- Unique Wedding Gown with a Monochromatic Color Palette

You probably know by now that I love unique and quirky touched. The bride who requested this board recently tried on wedding dresses for the first time and fell in love with silver wedding gowns. To go with her unique dress, she wants the men to wear navy suits and incorporate French Blues and white accents.

Inspiration #103- Bluegrass Parade Style Wedding

Wedding parades to the reception are certainly a fun idea! I forget when I saw this first, but I definitely think its great. So I was excited when a bride contacted me and said she was planning on having her whole wedding walk parade style to their reception.

The couple also will have a bluegrass band and some refreshments for their guests at the lake near their wedding ceremony while they are taking pictures. Their color palette is sage, white with navy as their dark color (for the men's outfits) and a few pink and gold accents. The bride wants to incorporate pink peonies into some of the flowers. For the board I gave the bride a pink peony bouquet while the bridesmaids would have a white peony bouquet, and I love the simple (which she requested) pew decor. I also love that she doesn't want her bridesmaids to be too matchy-matchy.

Inspiration #102- Yellow Backyard Bash

When I was contacted by the bride who requested this board and read that she was planning a vintage picnic wedding I was in love! The wedding will be hold on her family farm and all the flowers will be picked from their garden, lovely fall colored Dahlias and Mums (and using soup cans as vases for the table decor). They also plan to incorporate yellow checkered linens, serve fresh cider, lemonade and iced tea, and give out homemade salsa as a favor. The bride also wants to go with yellow patterned bridesmaids dresses (swoon), I found a few short ones but if you have any suggestions of where she could find a pretty long one, please let me know!

Two Short Wedding Dress Weddings I LOVE!

I am LOVING both of these weddings. The first is photographed by Christine Farah and I really adore the lovely bright bouquets, the custom Converses for the whole wedding party, the fact that the bridesmaids carried pomanders and the bride's adorable, short dress!

The second wedding was shot by David McNeil. These two are definitely stylish! Love the groom's unique outfit, the bride's unique headpiece, her fun bouquet and of course, her lovely dress! To see the rest of the photos from these weddings click on the photographers names.

Inspiration #101- Cheery April Wedding

Eyelet is so sweet! The bride who requested this board wants an eyelet wedding gown, I found the one used on this board which is by Amy-Jo Tatum. I think an eyelet cake would be lovely as well. She also wants to work with a sage, aqua and coral color palette and plans for her wedding to have an 'island wedding' vibe. They also plan to have a candy station, yummy.
