You probably know (if you read my blog regularly) that I love anything picnic themed and this engagement shoot is no exception!  Bettianne and Nate brought along a ton of great props that really made their engagement pictures super awesome.  Of course they are a super cute couple too!

Theme Thursday 43: Modern Gingham

This board is definitely fun!  I paired black and white gingham with lime for a modern twist, I can definitely see this color palette at a backyard wedding.

Theme Thursday 38: Preppy Lakeside Wedding

How about something a little preppy for today?  This board portrays a lakeside wedding with fun preppy details.  I went with a navy and white color palette with some pops of kelly green and khaki.  I love the little yay flag, how adorable is that?

Engagement Inspiration: Brianna & Doug's Vintage Car Engagement Shoot

I love this sweet engagement shoot!  Brianna and Doug took some amazing shots involving a vintage car and in the back of a vintage pickup that are just so adorable.  Congrats to Brianna and Doug!

Inspiration 179: Sunflowers and Strawberries

Sunflowers definitely add a rustic, fun and a bit vintage feel to a wedding, and that is exactly what the bride who requested this board is aiming to create for her wedding day.  She wants to work with a red & yellow (I added some pops of pink too) color palette for her husband who loves In N Out Burger and the Redskins.  She also wants to create a picnic feel without being too country-ish.  They plan to have their wedding partially catered by In N Out and want to incorporate some games like horseshoes and ladder ball into their reception.  To incorporate strawberries (one of the brides requests) I think adding them to the cake and using them as favors are a great touch!

Inspiration #133- New Zealand Picnic!

Sorry I have been MIA! Work has been hectic but I'm going to try to get back into posting. I've been working on requests and this is my most recent. This bride asked for a board with a garden picnic, hippy feel to it. They want to use dried lavender (lavender lemonade, yum!), baby's breath and maybe some roses from the market as flowers. I like the idea of the bridesmaids wearing a fun sundress (like the one in this board which is from Urban Outfitters!). They are also going to have a homemade sweets table, a Mexican food truck and use vintage china. The bride mentioned that she loved ribbon and lace so I thought a ribbon board would be awesome for the place cards. As for the hippy/vintage feel, I think an old record player would be a great detail! One other fun detail on this board, hanging vintage picture frames from a tree for take fun photos!

Favorite Wedding Friday #11- Pretty Pretty Picnic

Check it out! Love the mismatched bridesmaids (of course, and I actually suggested one of these dresses in my first Alternative Wednesdays post- look, look!), and the school bus limo, and of course that it was a picnic wedding. It was really hard for me to just pick a few photos, let alone one. That's why from now on this feature will be called Favorite Wedding Friday instead of just Favorite Photo Friday. Theme Thursday #15- Non-traditional Camping Wedding

OK, this bride's wedding ideas make me seriously happy. She wants to go the completely non-traditional route and just have a lot of fun. Think camping, picnicking, games, karaoke and just good times in general. I love the shot of the appetizers or other small bites being served out of the back of an old-fashioned pick up truck! Oh, and the groom in shorts? Love it!

Inspiration #102- Yellow Backyard Bash

When I was contacted by the bride who requested this board and read that she was planning a vintage picnic wedding I was in love! The wedding will be hold on her family farm and all the flowers will be picked from their garden, lovely fall colored Dahlias and Mums (and using soup cans as vases for the table decor). They also plan to incorporate yellow checkered linens, serve fresh cider, lemonade and iced tea, and give out homemade salsa as a favor. The bride also wants to go with yellow patterned bridesmaids dresses (swoon), I found a few short ones but if you have any suggestions of where she could find a pretty long one, please let me know!

Contest boards!

Kelley over at My Island Wedding is having an inspiration board contest that she invited me to join, how exciting!  She's allowing everyone to enter up to three boards and I've come up with two so far.  Here they are!

The first one is a picnic wedding with a few of our favorite things!  I love the idea of playing games (like croquet or lawn bowling) at the reception.

The second board is a little more elegant but still a lot of fun. I based it off of the poppy and pink color scheme I spotted (and fell in love with) on Martha Steward weddings.  I really adore the pale pink wedding dress I used in this board.

Inspiration #9- Some things just go together...

like ketchup and mustard! Maybe I was hungry when I was making this board? I'm not sure, but this color combination is certainly summery. It reminds me of a barbeque (even though I'm a vegetarian!) The bowtie is from etsy seller Pinch and Pull and the little hamburger is actually a cupcake!

Inspiration #1- Southern California Spring Picnic Wedding

I created this board as an inspiration for myself!  These are the colors I plan to use when I get married in the future.  I love turquoise jewelry and plan to use it as my main color.  I wanted a little something different as accent colors and came up with daisy yellow and peach/orange.  The wedding will also have a picnic "feel" to it.  Here's the inspiration board:
